you know what that means...DUMMMMM! DUMMMMMM! DA DUM DUM DUM DUM! the Olympics are starting today! well, technically with the time difference, they have already started. i love the Olympics - the drama, the competition, the cheesy pieces NBC puts together as filler that spotlight this athlete or that team...i love it all. if i could make watching the Olympics a full-time job for 2+ weeks, i totally would. if i could have three or four or ten tv's going at one time in an effort to watch every single Olympic game, match, or meet, i would. even badminton. the Olympic theme will be playing in my head pretty much constantly for the next few weeks, even after last fireworks have fizzled in the closing ceremonies. love it, love it, love it.
things are getting back to "normal" starting today...RAs are moving in, the residence halls are clean (except for the one that got renovated this summer...sorry Emily!), golf carts carrying maintenance guys and housekeepers are moving faster than their lazy summer pace, and frantic emails are filling my inbox. the next week and four days are going to be rough, and my to-do lists are getting longer instead of shorter! august is tough, and i don't even get to console myself with fun "back to school" shopping like i used to. ah well, the price you pay for growing up i suppose.
on the plus side, it's about 80 degrees outside right now, not the blistering 99 it was just a few days ago. my apartment, however, is still a whopping 65 or so. brrrrrrr! don't get me wrong - i'm thankful that it's not boiling in here. i'll bundle up, no problem.
so happy august, everyone! hope yours is less complicated than mine.
P.S. - still haven't lost any weight since coming back from the DFC...but i haven't gained any either!
