march is my favorite month of the year

there are several reasons why i love march so much:

1) my birthday is march 7th.

2) march usually means spring break, and every spring break in college (here and at UNC) has fallen during my birthday.

3) the second duke-unc game of the regular season is almost always in march, and usually somewhere around my birthday as well. this year it was march 8th.

4) march madness. no explanation needed. GO HEELS! if yesterday's losses by top-ranked teams and syracuse's dramatic 6 OT win over uconn are indications of this year's tournament, it's going to be pretty awesome. and pretty hard to pry me away from my tv.

5) the first day of spring is in march. it's usually the 21st, but for some reason this year it's the 20th (thank you for verifying that, sarah). last weekend's warm weather teaser was enough to help me through this rainy, cold weekend coming up.

so to summarize: march is awesome. so long february!
