why can't every day be a vacation day?

i know i know...if every day was a vacation, then no day would be a vacation. but my spring break is already off to a fantastic start! i just had the greatest weekend up in asheville with my very good and very cool friend (and former college roommate) gabrielle. we ate tons of great food, watched movies every night, enjoyed watching the snow come down in buckets, and slept a LOT. well, i slept a lot. i think gabrielle slept a normal amount. i think i was making up for lost sleep from the last couple of weeks.

i got to see my friend wendy and her husband AND her adorable kid! (hi, wendy!) it was a great visit...i really needed to reconnect with friends, and this weekend helped me do that with two of the best. it was rejuvenating and refreshing, and it was exactly what i needed. exactly.

now i'm home after a 4 hour drive on I-40 (possibly the most boring road in america...and i've driven it from wilmington all the way to oklahoma, so i'm pretty sure i'm right). tomorrow i have to work, clean, do laundry, and maybe get my hair cut somewhere in there. and then wednesday it's off to atlanta for spring break part 2! since next year is my very last spring break ever (i've had 25 of them - 13 in grade school, 5 in college, 4 at ncssm, and 3 at meredith...wow!), i am hoping to save my pennies and take a trip overseas to italy or some other favorite country that is not anywhere near raleigh. anyone want to go with me?
