whatever you're doing, STOP. put the computer down. go grab your wallet and car keys, and drive to the nearest electronics store. once there, purchase an external hard drive. drive back home. promptly back up your computer.
i think everyone who reads this is familiar with my hard drive fiasco a few weeks ago. thankfully, sue anne reminded me that we backed up my computer on HER external hard drive several months ago. while i wasn't able to recover everything, i was able to recover the things i deemed most valuable - my thousands of photographs, my portfolio documents, and my resumes. it was incredibly easy, too. on my macbook, i simply clicked on the time machine icon, and the desktop dropped down (it was like the door to narnia opening!) to reveal the backup i'd made. then i just clicked the documents i wanted and clicked 'restore.' easy peasy! now i will religiously back up my computer. no way do i want to go through that again.
and happy friday, people. more importantly, happy labor day weekend! i am on duty until monday morning and have zero plans for anything fun. what does everyone else have planned? trips to the beach now that hurricane earl has safely passed?
