philadelphia!

a few photos from my philadelphia and new york city adventures with the supremely awesome collette!

the liberty bell is in that giant glass room. i promise it's there! the line to see it inside was pretty long, so we decided to skip that. independence hall is right across the street.

we just thought this was funny. it's a window sign from an old drug store that has since been turned into something else like a hippie record store.

on saturday we hit new york city where the bus dropped us off at penn station on 34th street. one of our first sights was macy's with the empire state building close by.

collette was REALLY excited about these trash cans in herald square in front of macy's.

the gershwin hotel. it had these funky lights all over the front. pretty cool.

for the life of me i can't remember the name of this clock, but i know it's famous!

the flatiron building, a must-see on both of our lists.

we stumbled on this amazing store called fishs eddy near union square. i just googled them and learned that THEY SHIP! i feel a christmas list developing...

what's a trip to new york city without a stop at teddy roosevelt's birthplace?! i think collette knew more than the national park service guide.

went to rockefeller center to watch the skaters...

went to the very top of this...

and saw THIS!

then we took a silly picture of me touching the top of the empire state building.

our last view of new york city. so pretty.

back in philadelphia, we ate this giant minty ice cream concoction. beware - green cherries do NOT taste like cherries. they taste like cough medicine. ew.

however, we managed to eat the entire thing. it was difficult, but it was the right thing to do.

we explored the adorable elfreth's alley where one day i shall own a house...

and collette decided that they needed a fountain in one of their courtyards, so she very kindly obliged.
