think 'mary tyler moore' when you read that title. (does anyone even remember mary tyler moore?) one paper is done and in the professor's office! whether he'll take it 5 days late or not, i don't know. but at least i did it. still have one more paper and the exam tomorrow, but i'm starting to feel like i might be able to pull this off afterall. next friday can't get here fast enough. though.
i went to my sister's house in chapel hill tonight for a father's day dinner. my family is great, but they are LOUD. i think all dutch people were brought up to talk over one another as loudly as they could. add three kids into that mix and you have a lively bunch. my youngest nephew is growing so much! he even knows a few words now...'cool' is his favorite word of all, and he uses it for everything. got a book? cooooooooooool! got a piece of cake? cooooooooooool! got a poopy diaper? well, not cool. but a cup of juice? coooooooooool! he also makes this adorable face for my mom where he grins extra big and shows all of his teeth to us. and he climbed into my lap as soon as he got up from his nap. i love it.
but the loud fun is over, and it's back to school. the campus has been invaded by high schoolers for most of the rest of the summer. love them. (note the sarcasm.) it's also raining, which is cozy. it makes the bricks smell good. you know what i'm talking about, so don't pretend like you don't. it reminds me of carolina where we had bricks ev-er-y where. know what else i had at carolina? papers and tests. gotta go study til i fall over.
