"the real world"...RALEIGH!

sigh...it's back to the real world, and so far, so good. a few positives:

1) i haven't gained any weight back in the two days i've been away from the DFC.
2) i've been grocery shopping all over this city and have bought really good, healthy things.
3) i've cooked a few things and haven't cursed at my tiny kitchen TOO much. yet.
4) i've actually planned out all of my meals for the week.
5) i've been writing down everything i eat, keeping track of the calories, and staying within my calorie allotment.
6) i went out to eat last night, looked up the menu in advance, and ate a sensible dinner. AND didn't have a coke or bread. i mean, hello!

i have not, however, joined a pool yet. i did find out about a great one very close by that is part of the raleigh parks & rec system, so it doesn't have a big joining fee. also, they have lap swim from 5:30 am to something like 9pm. if i can't find time in there to swim, i have a serious problem. it's only been two days since i last swam, but i am already missing it! so although i have the eating on track so far, i need to get back on the exercising quickly before i lose the motivation completely.

training started today, and i am seriously not ready mentally or organizationally. i am very ready to see my fabulous RAs (hey y'all!), but i just need a week - or even a few days - to prepare. also, a group of people moved into my previously empty and quiet residence hall, including the three rooms above me. so my lovely silence has been squashed for now. i just have to remind myself of the amazing benefits that come along with the inconveniences, and it makes it better.

i'm out like trout, people. good night, and have a great tomorrow!
